Ranchi, July 02 (ANI): The Congress party claimed that the Digital India programme was really launched by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and taken forward several notches by the UPA government during its 10 year rule. Randeep Singh Surjewala said that merely renaming Congress' National e-Governance Plan to Digital India will not help, Prime Minister should actually work on it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the 'Digital India Week' at Indira Gandhi indoor stadium in the national capital with a view to empower the people of the country through the Digital India programme. Digital India aims to transform the country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy.
